The Board

As the youngest member of our illustrious executive board for Marquette Lacrosse, I had no idea when I was in for when nominated for the position of secretary. I did not know that my inbox would be constantly full, or that I would be part of quite possibly the longest email thread in history. Ok not really but it was very long. In all seriousness, being on the executive board as a sophomore is a great honor, knowing that my team and my coach have faith in me and my ability to help lead the team in a good direction.

Though being on the E-Board is awesome, it is anything but a walk in the park. The joy of waking up to a full inbox with confusing and multiple email threads that my fellow members in earlier time-zones have already been discussing for hours is always fun. This is just one of my jobs, along with long distance conference calls and updating the team on the decisions reached by the board. Also, as secretary I am also in charge of our website. Besides our coach, Panchito Ojeda, it is up to me to keep everyone informed on our progress. This will become more prominent as the season goes on as everyone is at home doing their own summer program currently.

What I can tell everyone is the situation with our spring break trip. Last year Marquette Lacrosse journeyed to San Diego, California for one of the most memorable trips of our young lives. Team bonding was at its essence, oh ya, we played some good lacrosse too. Overall it was a great trip and left the team hungry for more. After many, many options were discussed for this year, the board is close to a final decision. It is likely that this year Marquette will travel to North Carolina for our spring break trip.

Thats just a little insight to the happenings of the Executive board and the updates as of now. I hope everyone is enjoying summer. Look for another Coach’s Journal soon.
